In two or three days, you’ll be able to take your time exploring the main attractions. From this hotel, you can walk to Oslo Cathedral, the Museum For Contemporary Art, the Opera House, the Parliament building, and Akershus Fortress in a single day. Spend the second day exploring the museums on the Bygdøy Peninsula, and the third day on a fjord cruise or a visit to Vigeland Park.

In Norway, prices are generally lowest during the off-season, with the exception of the height of summer and the Christmas holidays. In the summer, the days are long and temperatures are high, but prices are also at their highest during this time. In the fall, there are fewer tourists, and the weather is cooler. In winter, it’s cold, it snows in the interior of the country, and in the north, the chances of seeing the Northern Lights increase. Late spring is often a particularly good time to travel.

Oslo is one of the most expensive capitals in Europe, and dining out, drinks, and taxi rides are particularly pricey. You can cut costs by taking the tram and the Underground, buying lunch at a bakery, and exploring the sights in the city centre on foot. If you stay at a hotel near the cathedral, as in this case, most of the sights are within walking distance, which will help you save on transportation costs.
