The setting
This hotel is right on the Protaras coast, and its well-maintained garden leads to a Blue Flag beach. The hotel grounds offer views of the sea, and this stretch of coastline has a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy a relaxing seaside setting.
What to expect
This is a 4-star beachfront hotel with a pool, three bars (the βCoralβ lobby bar, the βSirenaβ pool bar, and the βSea Sha'β lounge), as well as its own restaurant. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, and even if you rent a car to explore the Famagusta coast, you can take advantage of free parking.
Things to do nearby
Lombardi Beach is right at the hotel entrance, and if you walk along the sandy beach for another minute or two, youβll reach Nisia Lombardi Beach. Thereβs also a Neolithic settlement nearby, so you can easily learn about history between swims. Vyzakia Beach is also within easy walking distance. Green Bay, known for its calm waters that are ideal for snorkeling, is just a few minutesβ walk along the coast.
Best for
Itβs perfect for families and couples looking to spend a relaxing week on the beach in Protaras. The hotel grounds feature a childrenβs playground and a kidsβ club, and the shallow, crystal-clear waters off the βLombardiβ and βGreen Bayβ hotels are suitable even for children who arenβt yet confident swimmers. Active vacationers can enjoy the tennis courts, ping-pong tables, and a fitness centre, while couples can enjoy a relaxing getaway at the three bars and in the garden right on the beach, sipping a cocktail at sunset.
How to get to the hotel
Larnaca International Airport is the usual arrival point for Protaras, roughly a 45-minute to one-hour drive down the coast. Paphos Airport is the further option, closer to two hours by road. Transfers can be arranged at the time of booking, and the hotel has free parking on site if you'd rather pick up a hire car at the airport.

A week, loosely planned
Suggestions, not orders. Tour ideas to mix and match for your trip.
Arrival and first swim at Lombardi Beach
Take your time unpacking your suitcases, take a stroll through the garden, and head straight to Lombardi Beach to enjoy your first swim in the sea. The shallow water and gentle waves here offer the perfect conditions to recharge after a tiring flight. Pick out a lounge chair, order a refreshing drink at the βSirenaβ pool bar, and spend a relaxing afternoon. In the evening, consider taking a stroll to Protaras, where you can enjoy a cozy dinner and then try some ice cream on the promenade.
Green Bay snorkelling morning
Walk down the coast to Green Bay, one of the best snorkelling spots on this stretch. The rocks just offshore hide small fish and the odd submerged statue if you swim out a little. Pack a mask, take your time, and dry off with a coffee at a beach cafΓ©. Head back to the hotel for an afternoon by the pool and a sundowner at the Sea Sha' lounge bar.
Ancient stones and quiet coves
Give the morning to the Neolithic Settlement just up from the hotel β a short, easy visit that puts the coastline in a longer context. Afterwards, wander over to Nisia Lombardi Beach and Vyzakia Beach to compare the smaller coves. Bring a book, swim between them, and take lunch at one of the tavernas facing the sea. Back to the hotel for tennis or table tennis before dinner.
Cape Greco headland trip
Rent bikes or drive south to the Cape Greco headland, where sea caves and clifftop paths look out over impossibly blue water. The trails are short and well marked, so you can pick the loop that suits you. Bring water and swim shoes β there are ladders down to secluded swimming spots. Return in the late afternoon for a long shower and cocktails at the Coral lobby bar.
Slow day by the pool
After all, there are days when you just donβt do anything. Enjoy a late breakfast, grab a lounge chair by the pool, and, as the mood strikes, move between the shade, the water, and the bar. If youβd like to work out for about an hour, the gym is at your disposal, and even the youngest guests can have a great time at the kidsβ club. In the evening, you can take a stroll into town to enjoy some grilled fish, then walk along the beach, where the resortβs lights are reflected on the waterβs surface, before heading back.
Famagusta and Varosha
Head north for the day to Famagusta, with its Venetian walls, Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque and the strange, sobering ghost town of Varosha now partly reopened to visitors. It's a full morning of history and a lot of photographs. Grab lunch inside the old walls, then drive back down the coast with a stop for a swim at whichever beach catches your eye on the way.
Water sports and long lunch
Letβs spend the morning at the beach. On Protaras Beach, you can easily rent stand-up paddleboards and pedal boats, and since itβs a quiet cove, even beginners can enjoy the day without a care in the world. After all that water fun, youβre sure to be hungry. Enjoy a hearty lunch at a tavern right on the sandy beach. Back at the hotel, you can stretch your legs with a game of tennis or relax by the pool before dinner.

FAQ
Is the hotel suitable for families with children?
Yes. The hotel has a children's playground and a kids' club, and the pool is perfect for young children to swim in. Lombardi Beach, located right below the garden, is ideal for a family holiday thanks to its shallow waters and calm waves, and the sandy beach offers plenty of space for a relaxing stay.
What's there to do on site besides the beach?
Plenty. The hotel has a tennis court, table tennis, a gym and fitness facilities, plus a swimming pool and three bars (Coral lobby bar, Sirena pool bar and the Sea Sha' lounge) for slower evenings. It's an easy mix of active and lazy days without having to leave the grounds.
When is the best time to visit Protaras?
Late July, when this trip falls, is peak summer on the Cyprus coast β hot, dry days in the low thirties and warm sea temperatures. Expect long sunny afternoons and busy beaches. Bring high-factor sun cream, plan snorkelling and sightseeing for the mornings, and save the pool and shaded gardens for the middle of the day.
How close is the beach to the rooms?
Very close. The hotel's landscaped gardens lead straight down to a blue flag beach, with Lombardi Beach effectively on the doorstep. You can walk from your room to the sand in a couple of minutes, which makes early swims and lazy afternoon returns to the pool very easy.
Is there parking if guests hire a car?
Yes, there are free parking spaces on the hotel grounds. This is convenient for guests who want to drive to Cape Greco or Famagusta du on weekdays. Since the centre of Protaras is within walking distance of the hotel, you wonβt need to use your car every day.
