Why we love it
The setting
Amari Phuket sits on a headland above Patong Bay, with its own stretch of sand below and the Andaman Sea filling the view from most rooms. You are a short drive from the noise of central Patong, so days split easily between the quiet of the resort and the energy of the town. Modern Thai design runs through the buildings, with timber, sea-toned fabrics and wide glass that opens onto the water. The grounds drop down the slope in tiers, linking pools, restaurants and a private cove.
What to expect
The Superior Double room comes with a balcony, a king bed and a clear line to the bay. Breakfast is included and served each morning at the hotel. Two outdoor pools sit on different levels, one beside the beach and one higher up among the palms. There is a gym, a spa, and several places to eat across the site, including beachfront tables and a jetty that runs out over the water. Staff can arrange dive trips, island-hopping boats and airport transfers.
Things to do nearby
Patong Beach is the obvious draw, a few minutes on foot down from the resort. Tri Trang Beach is a quieter alternative under a kilometre away if you want fewer crowds. Bangla Boxing Stadium hosts Muay Thai fight nights about 1.8 km off, and Tiger Kingdom is roughly five and a half kilometres inland. Bangla Road, Patong's main strip of bars and markets, is close enough for an evening out and a taxi back.
Best for
Couples who want a beach base with sea views but also like having a real town within reach. Good for travellers who plan to mix resort days with boat trips, diving and nights out in Patong.
