Ireland is perfect for a weekend getaway, as distances are short and the flight from the UK takes very little time. Whether you fly into Dublin, Cork, or Belfast, you’ll be able to check in within an hour. Because these cities are all within reach of mountains, rocky coastlines, or lakes, even a 2-night stay will give you time to enjoy both the city’s nightlife and a day out in the open countryside.

Dublin is the most affordable option for a first visit, followed by Galway, Cork, Belfast, and Killarney. It has museums, pubs, and a train that runs along the coast. Galway is a good base for the west coast and traditional music. Cork attracts visitors with its compact city centre and port.
