Indulge in all-inclusive luxury on Marjan Island
Yes. This country has many beach resorts with swimming pools, private beaches, and several on-site restaurants, which form the basis of its all-inclusive offerings. The sea water temperature remains warm for most of the year. Since the resorts are located within about an hour’s drive of the main airports, travel time is short, and there are also direct flights from the United Kingdom.
Most package deals include not only all meals, soft drinks, and snacks throughout the day, but also access to the pool, beach, and gym. Since a licence is required to sell alcohol in the United Arab Emirates and it is not automatically included in the price, the cost of alcohol—depending on the package—is either included in the price or paid separately. Kids’ clubs, water sports lessons, and spa treatments are generally not included in the price of the meal plan.
For those who want to enjoy shopping, restaurants, and a variety of entertainment options even outside the resorts, Dubai is the one to pick. Abu Dhabi is a more laid-back city; it has museums, and life moves at a leisurely pace along the Corniche and on the surrounding islands. Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah are the quietest places; mountains stretch beyond the sand dunes, and traffic here is significantly less heavy. Sharjah is the most conservative city of all those listed.
From November through March, the climate is most pleasant, with daytime temperatures in the mid-20s and relatively low humidity. In April and October, it does get hotter, of course, but you can still enjoy spending time by the pool. From June through September, the heat is intense and humidity is high, so most activities take place indoors or on the water. During this time, resort prices drop significantly.
It suits both: family-oriented resorts offer kids’ clubs, shallow pools, and water parks, and many restaurants provide children’s meals for free or at reduced prices. Couples more often choose island or mountain resorts with adults-only pools and quiet beaches.
A 7-night stay is ideal for a first trip; this way, in addition to a week at the resort, you’ll have time for 2 or 3 days out. If you want to visit 2 emirates or plan an additional stay in the desert, it’s best to choose a trip lasting 10 to 14 nights. Since the flight time from the UK isn’t too long, short trips lasting 3 to 4 nights are also recommended.
