Yes. Turkey has an extensive coastline dotted with resorts featuring beaches, swimming pools, and restaurants that stay open late into the evening, and adults-only hotels sit along much of it. From late spring through autumn, the water temperature remains pleasantly warm, and the country’s cuisine is a major draw for travellers. Thanks to the hammam, a culture of wellness is deeply rooted here. Prices are generally lower than in much of the western Mediterranean.
The Turquoise Coast around Fethiye, Kalkan, and Göcek is ideal for couples looking for quiet coves, a day-long boat trip, or a hillside hotel with a view of the sea. Bodrum is a more glamorous option, where you can enjoy beach clubs and dinners that last late into the night. In Antalya and Side, you can enjoy both expansive sandy beaches and Roman ruins. If you’re planning a city trip, Istanbul is well worth a visit any time of year, and long walks through the city’s various neighbourhoods will be an unforgettable experience.
Prices are most affordable in winter (typically from November through March), when coastal resorts are less crowded and many seasonal hotels are closed. The trade-off is cool, rainy weather, and the sea is too cold for swimming. If you want to enjoy warm days at more affordable prices than in the height of summer, the period from late April through early June or from the second half of September through October is ideal.
In May, June, September, and early October, the balance between air temperature, water temperature, and tourist traffic is the most favourable. During July and August, it gets very hot on the southern coast, with temperatures often exceeding 35 °C, so this time of year is better suited for relaxing by the pool than for sightseeing. In Istanbul and Cappadocia, the most pleasant times of the year are spring and autumn. On the Mediterranean coast, the water temperature remains high enough even in October that you can continue swimming.
All-inclusive and half-board packages are the norm; adults-only hotels often offer a full all-inclusive package, which fully covers meals, snacks, and local beverages. Breakfast is typically served as a generous buffet featuring cheese, olives, eggs, bread, fruit, and much more. Standard amenities include a pool, a sun deck, a spa or hammam, and at least one à la carte restaurant. Since meal plans vary by hotel, check them before booking.
For a stay at a single resort, book 7 nights; this will allow you to spend a week at the beach and take 1 or 2 day trips. If you want to include Istanbul, Cappadocia, or a coastal cruise in your itinerary, plan for 10 to 14 nights. Since the flight from the UK takes about 4 hours, a short getaway lasting 4–5 nights is also a realistic option.
