Why we love it

The setting

This hotel is less than 2 miles from Heathrow Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport, and there is a bus service to the other terminals. Since it’s more of a convenient location right at the airport than a base for sightseeing, the atmosphere here is calm and practical—it’s a place where you can spend the night, have dinner, and make it to your gate on time. Since the hotel has a restaurant and a bar, there’s no need to go out in the evening.

What to expect

The rooms are equipped with comfortable beds, thick curtains, a shower with strong water pressure, and free Wi-Fi. Guests highly praise the front desk staff for their friendliness and efficiency. Paid parking spaces are available on the hotel grounds for 25 pounds per night, and additional parking spaces are available across the street at the Thistle Heathrow T5.

Things to do nearby

Heathrow Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport is literally right next door, just a few minutes’ walk away. Loftus Road Stadium is even further west in London, so you’ll need to get there by car or train. The Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington is also a bit further away. For most visitors, the reason for their stay here is not the surrounding cityscape, but the airport itself.

Best for

Terminal 5 frequently handles early-morning departures, late-night arrivals, and long layovers. In addition, drivers who wish to leave their cars near the airport make extensive use of the parking lots on the airport grounds. For couples who want to spend a night here before their flight as part of their trip, this is a place where they can relax comfortably and hassle-free.

How to get to the hotel

Heathrow Airport (Heathrow Terminal 5) is less than 2 miles from the hotel, and buses run to Terminals 2, 3, and 4. If you’re arriving from more distant areas, National Express offers an airport shuttle service. Guests arriving by car may, subject to availability, use the on-site parking lot (25 pounds per night) or the paid parking lot at the Thistle Hotel Heathrow T5, located directly across the street.

Your 2 days, loosely planned

Suggestions, not orders. Tour ideas to mix and match for your trip.

Day 1

Check-in and a calm pre-flight evening

Upon arrival, unpack your luggage and, if you drove, arrange for a parking spot at the front desk. Enjoy a quiet evening. After dinner at the hotel restaurant, take a seat at the bar, have another drink, and then go to bed early. Draw the blackout curtains, rinse off the day's fatigue in the shower, and set an early alarm. If you still have some time and energy left, you can take a short bus ride to another terminal to check out the route for the next morning in advance.

Day 2

Breakfast and the short hop to Terminal 5

Wake up stress-free—the trip to the airport will be hassle-free. Terminal 5 is less than 2 miles away. After paying for parking at the registration desk using a QR code, you can either take the shuttle, which will quickly take you to T5, or, if you’re departing from Terminals 2, 3, or 4, take the bus. This way, you’ll have plenty of time to go through security and enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee in the departure area.
