Your 2 days, loosely planned
Suggestions, not orders. Tour ideas to mix and match for your trip.
Canary Wharf and dockside wandering
To start, take a walk to the nearby historic St. St Matthias Old Church, and then head to Canary Wharf for a cup of coffee surrounded by skyscrapers. Continue on to the rooftop garden at Crossrail Place Roof Garden and spend about 30 minutes there under a wooden lattice roof entwined with tropical plants. Have lunch at one of the cafes by the harbour, then walk past Billingsgate Market and head back. Finish the evening, unwind at the hotel sauna and then enjoy a cocktail at the bar.
Limehouse, river views and central London
Take a stroll south to the white stone church of St. St St Anne's Limehouse, designed by Hawksmoor. From there, the route takes you to the Thames Path, where you can enjoy views of the river toward Canary Wharf. On the Elizabeth Line, you’ll reach central London in no time. You’ll also have plenty of time to spend about an hour at the Tate Modern or take a stroll through Covent Garden. In the afternoon, head back east and work out at the fitness centre before dinner.

FAQ
What are the top 10 things to do in London?
Since London is such a big city, you should choose a combination of several attractions. These include, for example, the British Museum, the Tate Modern, the Tower of London, a walk along the South Bank, Borough Market, Hyde Park, Covent Garden, a show in the West End, a boat ride on the Thames, and a walk through Canary Wharf. Most of these attractions are less than 30 minutes away from this hotel via the Elizabeth line.
What shouldn't you miss in London?
Don't miss the view of the Thames from one of the bridges at sunset, a proper “roast” meal at a traditional pub, and a visit to at least one of the major museums with free admission. Crossrail Place Roof Garden rooftop garden and Billingsgate Market, near the hotel, are also worth a visit, and St. Hawksmoor's St Anne's Limehouse, designed by Hawksmore, is a place that quietly tells the story of London—and one that many tourists often overlook.
What are some cool things to do in London?
How about spending a winter evening at the Ice Rink Canary Wharf, taking an early morning stroll through Billingsgate Market, or walking through the pedestrian tunnel in Greenwich under the Thames? In the evening, the rooftop bars around Canary Wharf are very popular, and in Shoreditch—which you can reach quickly from Poplar on the Elizabeth line—you can enjoy a street art tour.
What to do in London in 3 days?
On the first day, the hotel should visit the classic sights: Westminster, South Bank, and the art museums. On the second day, the hotel’ll head east to visit Canary Wharf, Greenwich, and “London by the Sea.” On the third day, choose one of the neighbourhoods—Notting Hill, Shoreditch, or Camden—to stroll through the markets and enjoy a cozy lunch. If you’re staying in Poplar, the travel time to these three neighbourhoods will be minimal.
What is the City of London known for?
The City is a historic district covering one square mile, known as London's financial centre. It is home to the Bank of England, St. St Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London, as well as narrow streets that have developed over the centuries and Guildhall. It is west of Canary Wharf, and both areas are just a few minutes away via the Elizabeth line, which departs from the station next to the hotel.
