Why we love it

The setting

The Spice Hotel & Spa is in Belek on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre and right next to a sandy beach. Since the surrounding area is more of a quiet resort and golf destination than a lively nightlife district, a relaxed atmosphere prevails here in the evenings. Guests can walk to the beach or the nearby golf course; taxis are available for longer trips.

What to expect

This 5-star resort hotel features not only a swimming pool, spa, hammam, sauna, and steam room, but also a water park, tennis courts, table tennis tables, and a fitness centre. For families with children, there is a game room, a playground, a children’s pool, and a kids’ club. The rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, and if you rent a car, parking spaces are available on the hotel grounds. There is also a bar and restaurant on the premises, so you can enjoy a pleasant evening without having to call a taxi.

Things to do nearby

Montgomerie Golf Course is right next to the resort, you can easily book early morning tee times. The public beach in Belek is within walking distance, so you can go for a swim there or enjoy a stroll along the Mediterranean coast at sunset. Since the hotel is also within easy reach of the Cornelia Golf Course and the Troy Water Park, it’s the perfect base for anyone who wants to combine a beach holiday with a round of golf or a visit to the water park.

Best for

Golfers who want fairways on the doorstep, families after a pool-and-water-park week, and couples who fancy long spa afternoons in the hamam and sauna. The kids' club, playroom and children's pool keep younger guests busy, while tennis, table tennis and the gym give active travellers something to do between beach trips. Groups who want everything on one site will feel at home.

How to get to the hotel

It’s about a 35–40-minute drive from Antalya Airport along the coastal highway heading west; the hotel will be happy to arrange a shuttle for you when you make your reservation. If you’d like to drive yourself, there’s parking on the hotel grounds, so renting a car will be no problem. If you’re arriving in Antalya by train, you’ll need to take an intercity bus or a taxi to Belek, as there is no train station in the resort town itself. Under normal traffic conditions, the travel time from the centre of Antalya is less than an hour.

A week, loosely planned

Suggestions, not orders. Tour ideas to mix and match for your trip.

Day 1

Arrival, pool and first look at Belek

Upon arrival in Antalya, you’ll take a shuttle bus to Belek, located east of the city. After checking in and dropping off your luggage, head straight to the pool to relax and recover from the fatigue of the flight. Once you’ve freshened up and taken a dip in the pool, take a stroll around the hotel grounds to get to know the surroundings. The bars, restaurants, and wellness centres are definitely worth checking out. In the evening, have dinner at the hotel and go to bed early so you can start the next day feeling well-rested.

Day 2

Montgomerie fairways or a lazy morning

Golfers enthusiasts can walk to the Montgomerie Golfers Course, located right next to the hotel, and enjoy their first round early in the morning, before the August heat has fully set in. Those who don’t play golf can enjoy a cozy breakfast and relax on a lounge chair by the pool while reading a book. Meet up again for lunch, take a swim, and spend the afternoon relaxing in the shade. After refreshing treatments at the Enar Spa, featuring a steam room and sauna, you’ll be in high spirits for dinner.

Day 3

Belek Public Beach day

Bring a towel and sunscreen, and head out for a walk to Belek’s public beach. Spend the morning, go for a swim in the Mediterranean Sea or splash around in the shallow water, and then find a shady spot to have lunch. Spend the afternoon, when the sun is at its strongest, you’ll head back to the hotel and switch from the sea to the pool. After refreshing yourself with some iced coffee, you’ll book a massage before dinner if your shoulders are tense.

Day 4

Water park and sports afternoon

Spend the morning at the water park on the hotel grounds. Children (and many adults, too) can have hours of fun on the slides, in the water play area, and in the pool. After lunch, you can reserve a tennis court and play a set or two, or enjoy a game of table tennis in the shade. If you want to burn off the calories from the buffet, consider working out in the gym. Round the day with a cocktail at the bar.

Day 5

Hamam, massage and full spa reset

Spend a relaxing day at Enar Spa today. Start with a hammam ritual—exfoliation, a soapy scrub, and a rinse—and then enjoy a massage of your choice. Between treatments, you can visit the sauna or steam room, and if you’d like, the solarium. After enjoying a hearty lunch, return to your lounge chair with a book in hand. By evening, everything will seem to flow at a leisurely pace. That’s precisely where the charm lies.

Day 6

Aquapark Troy or Cornelia Golf

Let’s spend the whole day on the road. If you’re travelling with your family, take a taxi a little further to “Aquapark Troy.” It has water slides and rides that are bigger than the pools at the resort. For golf enthusiasts, consider playing a round at the “Cornelia Golf Course”—one of the most popular golf courses in Belek. When you return to the hotel in the late afternoon, jump right into the pool to wash away the day’s fatigue. Have dinner at the hotel and enjoy a cocktail at the bar before bed.

Day 7

Kids' club day for the grown-ups

Leave the kids at the kids’ club or playroom and enjoy some morning time together. Book a treatment for two at the spa, take turns swimming, or read a book in a peaceful setting. In the afternoon, you can take a nap on a lounge chair while the kids have fun in the kids’ pool or on the playground. Then, gather the whole family for an early dinner, and as soon as the temperature cools down a bit, take a stroll around the grounds.
