Why we love it

The setting

This hotel is right on Chaweng Noi Beach, about 5 km from the city centre, in the relatively quiet southern part of the Chaweng coastline. The palm-shaded grounds feature a swimming pool, and the beach is just a few steps away from the resort’s walkway—it’s a place with a peaceful atmosphere. Songthaew (shared taxis) run along the main street toward Chaweng and Lamai, and you can walk the entire length of the beach from one end to the other.

What to expect

A beach-centred holiday awaits you. The hotel features a pool, a gym, and water sports equipment, and you can go snorkeling right on Chaweng Noi Beach. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, and a TV. After breakfast at the hotel, you can spend the day on sun loungers, by the pool, or by the sea. Free Wi-Fi and parking are also available.

Things to do nearby

Since Chaweng Noi Beach stretches right in front of the resort, I often start my day barefoot. After a short walk along the coast, you can reach Chaweng Yai Beach with its livelier sandy shore and numerous beach bars; in the opposite direction, just nearby, is Coral Cove Beach, which is ideal for snorkeling among the rocks. Bangkok Hospital, on the main street, is also just a few minutes’ walk away.

Best for

It’s perfect for couples and families who want to spend their holiday on Koh Samui at the beach while avoiding the hustle and bustle of Chaweng’s nightlife. Thanks to the children’s pool, even the youngest guests are sure to have a wonderful time here. In addition to sunbathing, there are plenty of activities on offer, such as snorkeling and water sports, which even teenagers will enjoy.

How to get to the hotel

The hotel is about a 20-minute drive along the coast from Koh Samui International Airport; the hotel will be happy to arrange a shuttle for you when you make your reservation. Guests arriving from the mainland usually fly into Surat Thani Airport or take a ferry from Donsak to the Nathon Ferry Terminal, and from there take a taxi across the island (the trip to Chaweng Noi takes about 45 minutes).

A week, loosely planned

Suggestions, not orders. Tour ideas to mix and match for your trip.

Day 1

Arrival and first toes in the sand

Upon arrival at Koh Samui Airport, a short drive to Chaweng Noi awaits you. Drop off your luggage, grab a cold drink, and head straight to the beach to enjoy your first swim. Later in the afternoon, take a stroll along the sandy beach to Chaweng Yai, then return to the hotel to take a shower, and enjoy a relaxed dinner at one of the beachfront restaurants near the hotel while soaking up the atmosphere of the surroundings.

Day 2

Coral Cove snorkel morning

First, have breakfast at the resort hotel, and then take a walk to Coral Cove Beach to go snorkeling. This rocky headland is home to more fish than Chaweng’s main beach. So please bring your own snorkeling gear if you have it, or rent some at the water sports counter. Once you return to the hotel, you can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the pool or on a lounge chair and watch the sunset over the bay from the sandy beach.

Day 3

Chaweng town and night market

To mix things up a bit, try taking a songthaew to North Chaweng. Stroll through the shops along the main street, try some som and grilled seafood for lunch, and treat yourself to a foot massage on the way back. In the evening, head back to the Chaweng Noi Beach and enjoy skewered meats, sticky rice with mango, and inexpensive “Chang” beer. Then return to Chaweng Noi and have a cocktail by the pool.

Day 4

Pool day and gym session

Give yourself a slow day. Long breakfast, laps in the pool, a session in the on-site gym if you feel like it. Order a fruit shake, read a book on a lounger and let the kids splash in the children's pool. Late afternoon, walk the length of Chaweng Noi Beach barefoot at low tide, then find a beach bar for sundowners and freshly caught fish.

Day 5

Island loop by scooter or car

Rent a scooter or a car and drive counterclockwise along the ring road. Stop in Lamai to go for a swim and explore the Hin Ta and Hin Yai rocks, then head to Na Muang Waterfall to take a dip in the cool, fresh water. On the way back, you’ll drive through a fishing village in Bophut. After a cozy dinner by the shore with Thai curry and cocktails, you’ll drive back to Chaweng Noi under the palm trees.

Day 6

Water sports and lazy afternoon

Take advantage of the water sports activities available on the beach. You can kayak along the cape, try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding when the sea is as smooth as glass, or book a jet ski tour. Return to the hotel, enjoy a cozy lunch, take a dip in the pool, and then take a nap under the palm trees. In the evening, take a taxi to the “Ark” bar or one of Chaweng Noi Beach’s quiet coastal areas, enjoy dinner there with live music, and then take a stroll along the seashore.

Day 7

Ang Thong day trip

Book a boat tour to Ang Thong Marine Park. Enjoy the emerald lagoons and limestone karst landscapes—there will be stops along the way where you can snorkel or kayak among the islands. Lunch is usually served on board. You'll return to Chaweng Noi in the late afternoon. Since you’ll likely be tired and still smell of the sea, it’s best to spend the evening in a relaxed setting. Consider having dinner near the hotel, enjoying a cold beer on the sandy beach, and going to bed early.

FAQ

Is the hotel suitable for children?

Yes. This resort is considered “ideal for families with children”: there is a children’s pool next to the main pool, and right in front of it lies a stretch of Chaweng Noi Beach with gentle waves. Families with young children generally prefer this calmer setting to the centre of Chaweng.

What is there to do on site besides the beach?

There’s a wide variety of activities to choose from. In addition to the pool, gym, and fitness equipment, the resort also offers water sports facilities on the beach and snorkeling gear. This means you won’t have to leave the resort to combine a trip to the pool with a workout or to kayak out to the reef for a swim before dinner.

Is August a good time to visit Koh Samui?

August is the perfect time to visit Koh Samui. This month falls between the heavy rains, the water temperature is warm, and, although there are sometimes brief tropical showers, the weather is generally sunny. When snorkeling in Chaweng Noi or Coral Cove, the water is usually crystal clear, and compared to the peak season from December through February, the beaches are relatively uncrowded.

How close is the hotel to the beach?

Very close. Chaweng Noi Beach is on the hotel's doorstep, and Chaweng Yai and Coral Cove are both a short walk along the coast. You can be barefoot on the sand within a couple of minutes of leaving your room.

Is parking available for guests with a hire car?

Yes, there are free parking spaces on the resort grounds. This is especially convenient for guests who rent a car or scooter and want to drive along Koh Samui’s ring road to attractions such as Lamai, Bophut, or Na Muang Waterfall.
