The setting
Hotel Caribe Ibiza is in Es Canar on the island’s east coast, about 200 metres from a sandy beach, right in the heart of this small resort town. The atmosphere here is more relaxed than in the lively party districts on the west coast, and the promenade, as well as local shops and bars, are within walking distance. Santa Eulalia is just a few minutes’ drive south, and other parts of the island are also easily accessible by rental car or bus. The hotel meets 3-star standards, features a pool and a gym, and is geared toward family holidays.
What to expect
This is a simple beach hotel built in the Mediterranean style. The hotel features a pool where you can relax between swims in the sea, a gym for those who want to stay active even on holiday, and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. If you’ve rented a car, free parking is available. This is really convenient in Ibiza. The rooms are simply furnished and equipped with air conditioning. They feature a minimalist design, allowing you to unwind after a long day at the beach. For families, there’s a game room, a children’s playground, and a kids’ pool, so even the youngest guests can enjoy their own space.
Things to do nearby
Es Canar Beach is right on your doorstep, and after a short walk along the coastal trail, you can also reach Sargamassa Beach. Punta Arabi is also nearby, where the famous hippie market takes place on Wednesdays, so it’s worth visiting on that day. If you walk a little further along the coast, you’ll reach Cala Pada Beach, where you can swim in a more peaceful setting. The marina and restaurants of Santa Eulalia are just a few minutes’ drive south, and other areas of Ibiza—Ibiza Town, Ses Salines, and the coves on the west coast—are easily accessible by car or bus.

How to get to the hotel
Ibiza Airport sits on the south of the island, around 30-35 minutes by car or taxi to Es Canar. Hire cars are easy to pick up at the terminal, and parking at the hotel is free. Public buses also run via Santa Eulalia, with a connection on to Es Canar.

Arrival and a first look at Es Canar
As soon as you arrive at the hotel, drop off your luggage and head straight to Playa de Es Canar. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel entrance. Stroll from one end of the cove to the other to soak up the atmosphere of the area, and when the sun isn’t quite so hot, find a table on the beach to have a drink. When you return to the hotel, take a leisurely swim in the pool before dinner, and go to bed early to rest up after your tiring flight.
Beach day along the east coast
Spend the morning at Playa de Es Canar, where you can go for a swim and read a book, and then take a walk along the coastal trail north to Cala Pada Beach. There, a completely different landscape and even more crystal-clear water await you. Enjoy lunch at one of the “chiringuitos” (beach bars) along the trail. Back at the hotel, if you still have the energy, you can use the pool or the gym. Otherwise, you can stretch out on a lounge chair until sunset and leisurely enjoy your time.
Punta Arabi and the hippy market
If your stay falls on a Wednesday, you should take a walk to Punta Arabi and visit the “Es Canar” hippie market. From morning until noon, stalls selling leather goods, ceramics, jewelry, and street food line the street. How about buying a couple of souvenirs or having lunch right there, and then heading back to the beach to cool off? In the evening, consider taking your time to enjoy a cocktail in town and have dinner somewhere along the waterfront.
Santa Eulalia by car or bus
Head south to Santa Eulalia del RĂo for the day. Wander the marina, browse the boutiques along Paseo de S'Alamera and have lunch at one of the harbour-front restaurants. The town's church on the hill is worth the short climb for the view back over the coast. Drive home along the coast road, stopping at S'Argamassa for a late swim before heading back to the pool.
Boat trip or hidden coves
Book a boat tour from Santa Eulalia or Es Canar. Many tours head to the island of Formentera, while others cruise along the coast, where you can visit secluded coves that are quite difficult to reach by car. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuits, sunscreen, and water. If you’d rather stay on land, drive to Cala Mastella or Cala Llenya and spend half a day there on one of the small beaches. Then return to your accommodation and wrap up the day at the gym or by the pool.
Ibiza Town and Dalt Vila
Take the a bus or drive to the city of Ibiza Town and spend the day in the old town of “Dalt Vila,” surrounded by fortress walls. Walk through the gate into the city walls, explore the cathedral and the fortress walls, and then head down to the harbour to enjoy some tapas. The shopping streets and bars by the harbour are perfect for an afternoon stroll. Return to Playa de Es Canar before sunset and, to round out the day, take another dip.
Slow morning and departure
Use the last morning for a final swim — sea first, pool second — and a long breakfast. Pack up, leave the bags at reception and walk the promenade one more time for a coffee and a last look at the bay. If your flight is late, the playground and pool area keep the kids occupied until it's time to drive to the airport at Sant Josep.

Is the hotel suitable for families with children?
Yes. The hotel has a playroom, a children's playground, a dedicated kids' swimming pool and kids' TV networks in the rooms. With Playa de Es Canar right by the hotel and Cala Pada Beach close by, there's plenty for younger guests to do without long journeys.
What is there to do on site besides the beach?

Is late July a good time to visit Es Canar?
The peak of the season arrives in Ibiza at the end of July: there’s a string of hot, dry days, the water temperature is high, and the nights are long. The maximum temperature is around 30 °C, and since the beaches are expected to be very crowded, it’s recommended to arrive early to secure a spot. The hippie market, held on The Wednesday in Punta Arabi, is open all summer and is one of the week’s main events.
How close is the hotel to the beach?
Playa de Es Canar is right by the hotel — around 200 metres on foot, so a couple of minutes door to sand. Playa de S'Argamassa and Cala Pada Beach are both a short walk further along the coast path if you fancy a change of scene.
