The setting
Playa Park Zensation is in La Oliva, on the northernmost tip of the island of Fuerteventura, near the Corralejo Dunes and just a few minutes’ walk from the “Centro Comercial El Campanario” shopping centre. In this neighbourhood, low-rise holiday apartments sit alongside beach bars and cafes, creating a lively yet not overly noisy atmosphere in the evenings. Time passes slowly, the sky stretches far overhead, and the trade winds bring a refreshing breeze.
What to expect
This hotel is entirely family-oriented. There is a swimming pool in the centre of the hotel, with a children’s pool right next to it, as well as a playground and an indoor playroom that can be used even on windy days. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, and if you rent a car, you can take advantage of free parking. A shuttle service can also be arranged. How to get to the hotel
Fuerteventura Airport (Puerto del Rosario) is about a 40-minute drive north of Corralejo; you can book a shuttle when making your reservation. Since there is free parking at the airport, a rental car is convenient if you plan to visit Corralejo Natural Park or the ferry terminal, where ferries depart for the island of Lanzarote. If you arrive late at night, the most convenient option is to take a taxi from the airport taxi stand.

Arrival and a first look at Corralejo
Upon arrival at Fuerteventura Airport, you’ll take a car ride north, and after about a 40-minute drive along the coast, you’ll reach your hotel. Drop off your luggage, put on some shorts, and head straight to the main pool to relax after your tiring flight. Then take a stroll to the “Centro Comercial El Campanario” shopping centre and browse the stores while enjoying a cup of coffee. Enjoy a cozy dinner nearby and go to bed early—the sun here is stronger than it seems.
Pool day and the dunes
While the kids play in the children’s pool or on the playground, you can enjoy a peaceful morning by the pool and start your day in complete tranquility. After lunch, take a car or a taxi to the Corralejo Dunes. Take a barefoot stroll along the sandy beach and enjoy a swim in the Atlantic Ocean. Return to the hotel with the scent of sand and the sea in your hair, take a shower, and round out the day by sampling some tapas at the beach bar on the boardwalk near the hotel.
Snorkelling on the north coast

Since there’s practically no shade there, be sure to bring water and a hat. In the afternoon, take the ferry back and treat yourself to some ice cream at the “El Campanario” café to recharge after a full day.
Diving deeper
Book a guided diving tour through the hotel and head out to one of the coral reef dive sites off the northern coast. Those who don’t want to go diving can join a snorkeling excursion or enjoy a leisurely workout in the gym or by the pool. After a late lunch together, you can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing on lounge chairs or, if the wind picks up, in the game room. The sunset, which can be viewed from the beach near Playa Real, is also worth the walk there.
Inland to the old capital
Wander the morning, you’ll head south to the former capital, Betancuria, which is peacefully nestled amid the island’s volcanic, hilly landscape. You’ll stroll through the streets lined with white-facaded houses, explore the interior of the Church of Santa María, and sample some goat cheese at one of the village cafés. On the way back, you’ll drive past the Mirador de Morro Velosa viewpoint and enjoy the view of the island’s interior. Wander the evening, you’ll visit the pool, take a shower, and enjoy a cozy dinner not far from the hotel.

Spend the morning, consider taking a stroll along the nearby beaches. The beaches of Tres Vistas, Bajo del Medio, and Playa Real are just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, and each has its own unique charm. Pick a lunch to go and enjoy it on the sandy beach.
