Volkshotel is located on Wibautstraat in the east of Amsterdam, a few minutes by tram from the city centre. The building once housed a newspaper office, and the renovation kept its industrial structure, so concrete, plywood and exposed elements run through the rooms. Some are compact and cleverly designed, others are larger studio-style spaces. There is a rooftop bar with sauna and hot tubs, a ground-floor café and a club in the basement. Artis Zoo and the Heineken Experience are about 1.5 km away, while the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum are under a 20-minute tram ride.
