Yes, children are always welcome here. The hotel has a playroom where young guests can have fun. The Artis Zoo is just 1.4 km from the hotel, so you and your children can easily get there. Since the hotel has a restaurant, after a busy day full of sightseeing, you won’t have to go far for dinner.

From late spring to early fall, the weather here is usually mild, and since there are relatively few people on the streets, this time of year is ideal for bike rides and walks along the canals. In the summer, it’s hot and bustling here, while in the winter, on the other hand, it’s cold, the days are short, and there are even occasional frosts. Since it can rain any month of the year, it’s a good idea to bring a waterproof jacket no matter the season.

Volkshotel is about 2.1 km from the Van Gogh Museum and 1.9 km from the Rijksmuseum, roughly a 15 to 20 minute tram ride to the museum quarter.
