The setting
This resort is right on the Sanur waterfront in south-eastern Bali, just a minute’s walk from the beach. Sanur is one of the island’s most peaceful areas; instead of clubs open late into the night, it features a promenade perfect for strolling, as well as small warungs and cafes. Most guests get around on foot or by scooter, and it’s easy to find a taxi along Jalan Danau Tamblingan. The atmosphere here is peaceful, with a tropical vibe, and time passes slowly.
What to expect
This 4-star Balinese-style resort stretches from the garden to the beach and features a pool, an outdoor pool, and a children’s pool for family holidays. In addition to a spa, massage rooms, a fitness centre, a gym, and a yoga studio, the resort also features a bar, a restaurant, and a small library. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi, and on-site parking is available.
Things to do nearby
Sanur Beach is right at the entrance to the resort, so you can conveniently take a dip in the ocean early in the morning or go for a walk at sunrise. If you walk a short distance in the opposite direction along the sandy beach, you’ll reach Cemara Beach, where you can enjoy a quieter stretch of coastline. It’s a slightly longer walk along the boardwalk to Karang Beach, but if you feel like having a coffee along the way, you’ll find cafes and small shops nearby.
Best for
It’s perfect for couples looking to spend a relaxing week at a spa, as well as for families seeking a quiet beach resort with a separate children’s pool. There are dedicated areas for yoga and fitness enthusiasts, and those who want to enjoy long walks along the beach will find the Sanur promenade right at the hotel’s entrance. Since life in Sanur moves at a leisurely pace, this resort is unlikely to suit travellers looking for the nightlife or surfing scene of Seminyak.
How to get to the hotel
Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar is the arrival point for Bali, roughly 30-45 minutes by road to Sanur depending on traffic. The resort has a transfer service that can be arranged at the time of booking, and metered Bluebird taxis are the standard alternative. There are no trains on Bali, so onward travel around the island is by car, scooter or the fast boats east to the Gili Islands from Sanur's own harbour.

A week, loosely planned
Suggestions, not orders. Tour ideas to mix and match for your trip.
Arrival and toes in the sand
Upon arrival in Denpasar, you’ll take a shuttle bus to Sanur. After checking your luggage, walk straight through the garden to Sanur Beach and stroll along the boardwalk to soak up the atmosphere. Order a refreshing drink at one of the beach bars and watch the “jukun” fishing boats return to the harbour. On your first evening, have a simple dinner at the resort’s restaurant and go to bed early to rest up after your tiring flight.
Sunrise swim and spa afternoon
Sanur faces east, so set an alarm and walk down to the water for the sunrise — it's the local ritual. Come back for breakfast, then spend the middle of the day between the outdoor pool and a shady sunlounger. Book an afternoon massage at the spa; the Balinese-style treatments are the reason plenty of people pick this resort in the first place.
Cemara Beach and slow lunch
If you walk south along the sandy beach, you’ll come to the quieter Cemara Beach, where casuarina trees provide shade. Bring a book, go for a swim as soon as it warms up, and stop by one of the beach “warungs” to try some grilled fish or “nasi campur.” In the late afternoon, you can take a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk, pop into the small shops selling salad and coffee, and finally end the day with a cocktail at the resort bar.
Yoga, gym and pool day
Start your day with a yoga session, and then, while the sun isn’t too hot yet, do a short workout in the gym. Reward, treat yourself to a cozy breakfast and relax by the pool with a fresh coconut in hand. If you’re travelling with children, this is the perfect day to visit the kids’ pool; otherwise, you can also book another spa treatment. You’ll be able to enjoy dinner at the resort hotel in complete peace and quiet.
Karang Beach and Sanur village
Take a stroll along the waterfront north toward Cemara Beach and wander through the winding streets along Jalan Danau Tamblingan, where cafes and small galleries line the street. Enjoy a late breakfast at one of the cafes, do a little shopping, and then head down to the sandy beach for a swim. How about dining out for dinner tonight? Sanur has plenty of restaurants within walking distance where you can enjoy Indonesian and international cuisine.
Day trip out of Sanur
Hire a driver for the day and head either inland to Ubud to explore the rice terraces, temples, and the “Monkey Forest,” or head south to Uluwatu to admire the cliff-top temple and watch the “Kecak” dance at sunset. Both routes are ideal for a day trip. Discuss the price with the driver before setting off. Then return to Sanur, enjoy a late dinner, and, while sipping a cocktail by the pool, watch the palm trees swaying in the sea breeze.
Boat over to Nusa Lembongan
Sanur's harbour runs fast boats across to Nusa Lembongan in about 30 minutes. Spend the day snorkelling at Mushroom Bay, swimming at Dream Beach and having lunch on a sun-deck overlooking the strait. Boats run back through the afternoon, so aim to be on the pier before sunset. Back at the resort, an evening in the spa is a good way to unwind sunburnt shoulders.

FAQ
Is the resort suitable for children?
Yes. This resort is considered an ideal destination for families with children, and in addition to the main pool, there is a separate children’s pool. The calm coastline of Sanur, unlike Bali’s beaches with strong surf, offers ideal conditions for swimming, even for children who aren’t yet strong swimmers. In addition, there’s plenty of space in the garden where children can play between the pool and the sandy beach.
Is August a good time to visit Sanur?
Since August in Bali falls during the dry season, the days here are usually warm, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 30 °C. For a tropical region, the humidity is relatively low, and the weather is mostly sunny. Since it’s peak season, the beaches and restaurants have a lively atmosphere, though Sanur is much quieter than Kuta and Seminyak. Thanks to the sea breeze, it’s very pleasant to relax by the pool during the day.
What is there to do on site besides the beach?
There is a wide variety of entertainment options here. For those who want to stay active, there are tennis courts, fitness areas, and a gym, while those who prefer a more relaxing stay can enjoy a yoga area, a spa, and massage rooms. You can swim in two pools, and thanks to the bar, restaurant, and small library, you can enjoy a variety of activities in the evening without leaving the premises.
Is breakfast included?
As part of this package, breakfast each morning at the resort’s restaurant is included in the price. Other meals are not included, which, however, is actually an advantage in Sanur. Along the waterfront, there are warungs, cafes, and beach bars just a few minutes’ walk away, so you can combine dining at the resort with sampling a variety of local dishes.
How far is the beach from the rooms?
It’s right nearby. Since this resort is right on Sanur Beach, it’s just a 1–2-minute walk from the garden to the sandy beach. Cemara Beach is a little further south along the coast, and Karang Beach is a little further in the opposite direction if you walk along the boardwalk.
