Your 4 days, loosely planned
Suggestions, not orders. Tour ideas to mix and match for your trip.
Arrival, thermal waters and a first look at town
After checking in and dropping off your luggage, take a stroll to Bad Gastein to explore the town. If you’d like to unwind from your journey at the town’s famous thermal baths, the The Gastein Vapor Bath is just a few minutes’ walk away. Walk back along the street lined with Belle Époque-style buildings, take a coffee break, then relax in the hotel’s indoor pool or sauna, and afterward enjoy dinner at one of the hotel’s three restaurants.
Up the Stubnerkogel gondola
Take a walk to the “Stubnerkogelbahn” cable car station, ascend to an elevation of 2,245 metres, and enjoy the hiking trails along the mountain ridge, as well as the suspension bridges. In winter, it’s the perfect place for skiing, and in fall and summer, it’s a great spot for hiking; there’s even a trail that leads down through high-altitude alpine meadows. Bring a picnic lunch or stop by a mountain hut to have lunch there. When you return to the hotel, you can book a session in the solarium or relax in the steam room, and then enjoy a drink at the “Bellevue Bar” bar.
Ski lift, playground and a night at the casino
While the family spends the morning in the playroom, at the children’s playground, or in the kids’ pool, experienced skiers can take a trip to the nearby “Bellevue Alm” ski lift. How about spending the afternoon at the mini-golf course, the golf course, or the hotel’s fitness centre? After dinner, you can visit the Bad Gastein Ski Resort, located just a two-minute walk from the hotel, try your luck under the chandeliers, and then return to the hotel to enjoy a cocktail before bed.
Slow morning and a Salzburg detour
Make the most of your late checkout. The wellness centre is open until 4:00 p.m.—so why not go for a swim or enjoy a long sauna session first? If you have a little time left before heading home, you can take a trip to Salzburg, the city of Mozart, located about a 90-minute drive north. Otherwise, consider staying in the Gastein Vapor Bath, taking a walk through the forest right next to your hotel, and having lunch at one of the local cafés.

FAQ
Is the hotel suitable for children?
Yes. For families, there is a game room, an outdoor playground, and a separate children’s pool next to the main indoor pool. The cottage-style rooms and apartments offer parents plenty of space to relax, and thanks to their close proximity to the ski lifts and hiking trails, older children will find plenty to do year-round.
What is there to do on site?
In addition to the spa, there’s plenty to do here. The hotel not only features mini-golf and a golf course, as well as a fitness centre and gym for sports enthusiasts, but also a wellness complex with an indoor pool, a children’s pool, a sauna, a steam room, and a solarium. At the three restaurants and the Bellevue Bar bar, you can enjoy meals and drinks without ever leaving the hotel.
When is the best time to visit Bad Gastein?
In early October, during the stay, a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere reigns here. The larch trees turn a golden yellow, the hiking trails on the Stubnerkogel are still open, and bathing in the thermal springs amid the invigorating mountain air provides a truly special sense of well-being. Winter is also peak season with plenty of activities, and the nearby ski lifts are in full operation during this time.
Can guests use the wellness area on the day of departure?
Yes. At the hotel, the wellness centre is available to guests who are checking out until 4:00 p.m., so after you check out, you can enjoy the pool, sauna, and steam room one last time. This is especially convenient for guests who have a long drive ahead of them from the Bad Gastein train station to their homes or who are continuing their journey on a night train.
Is parking available and are transfers offered?
Guests arriving by car can use the hotel’s parking spaces free of charge. Given the hotel’s location in the mountains, this is very convenient. For guests arriving by plane or train, the hotel arranges a shuttle upon booking, so you won’t have to arrange a taxi yourself from Salzburg Airport or the Bad Gastein train station.
